Dr. Patrick Paradis
Dr. Patrick Paradis
is a native Oregonian. He grew up in the Woodburn area with seven
brothers and sisters. He graduated from Woodburn high school in 1972 and then
attended Oregon State University, where he received degrees in Zoology (BS 1976)
and poultry science (MS 1977). In the Fall of 1978 he entered the College of
Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University. He received his degree in
veterinary medicine in 1982.
After working in practices in Lakeview and Roseburg, Oregon (including Wildlife
Sarari), he returned to Woodburn in the spring of 1984 and became associated
with the Woodburn Pet Hospital. He is now the owner of the practice. his
professional interests are small animal general medicine and surgery, large
animal medicine and surgery, exotic animal work, canine dentistry and practice
management.
Dr. Paradis resides in Woodburn with his wife Susan, and two sons, Nicholas and
Tyler, and their three cats (Van Gogh, Virginia, and JJ). he enjoys hunting,
fishing, gardening and is an avid sports fan.
On September 10, 1996 he and his wife Sue had twins. A boy named Kyle and a girl
named Lauren.
Gail was
born on December 16th (she won't tell us the year) in Long Island, New York. Her
family of 4 sisters and 2 brothers moved to California when she was eleven. Gail
attended Fullerton State College for 2 years taking numerous business,
accounting and management courses. For 25 years she worked in various office
positions including Vice President of Human Resources for a savings and loan. In
1992 she moved from Anaheim CA to Big Bear Lake in southern CA where she started
work for a veterinarian and was forever converted to working around pets verses
the corporate world. She has never regretted the career change.
Gail is married and has 2 girls. When her youngest daughter graduated from high
school in 1995 in Big Bear Lake, Gail and her husband moved to Oregon.
Gail's hobbies are oil painting and raising African Grey and Moustache Keet
parrots. She spoils her 2 Pomeranians Ginger and Megan and totally enjoys her
Cockatiel Fred, a Moustache Keet named Nipper, and 2 African Greys named Winky
and Tiny Tim.
Twyla
Twyla
was
born in Salem and has lived in that area all her
life. She is the youngest of four children. She graduated from North Salem High
School in 1971. She's taken some continuing education courses in office skills
through Chemeketa Community College and also proffesional and personal
development courses through various seminars.
Twyla began work at our clinic in October 1989. She's responsible for general
office and clerical work, and accounts receivable.
Twyla's interests include walking her dog, Webster (a Westie), gardening,
decorating projects, baking, yoga, movies, and music. She also has a gray tabby
cat named Frankie and a cute little black and white kitty named Emily.
Sarah
Sarah
was born In Portland Oregon and graduated
from Laurelwood Adventist Academy and at the present time resides in Mulino with
her parents. Sarah began working at the AMC in September of 1997 as a kennel
attendant. In June of 1998 she had the opportunity to begin training as a
Veterinary Technician. Her basic duties include assisting the Veterinarians in
surgery, helping take x-rays, running blood work tests, medicating animals,
giving vaccines and basically just helping out where ever there is a need.
Sarah's hobbies include drawing, singing, reading, biking, gardening (to an
extent) and playing volleyball. She also enjoys spending time with her four
ducks (Hershey, Jasmine, Joe, and Prissy) two pygmy goats (Buttons and Stinky)
seven cats ( Lucky, Mamma, Kitty, Speckles, Baby, Chelsea, Simon, and Joey) and
her dogs, Molly and Abby. She likes working here because there is always
something new to see or learn and above all to help the pets that need a helping
hand.
Theresa
Theresa was born in California, but
claims to be an Oregonian. She is the oldest of four children and was raised in
the Salem/Gervais area. She graduated from Gervais High School and has been
married for 22 years. She has five children, three girls and two boys. She is a
Oregon certified EMT-B with St. Paul Volunteer Ambulance.
Theresa just started at A.M.C. on Jan. 3, 2000, so she is still learning
about everything. Her duties are receptionist, ordering supplies and
medications, restocking inventory, and just extra help for Gail and Twyla.
Theresa has a Jack Russell Terrier named Emmett and a sweet Siamese/mix cat
named Simon. ( Simon was adopted from the clinic! Husband says no more!) Her
kids have 3 Quarter Horses: Mooch, Connor, and Elvis, a lovely brown mutt dog
named Whitney, and 2 cats: Malcolm and Cassie. She likes to garden in her spare
time and would love to find time to do some quilting.
